Research project with UIS within cognitive decision support

System for cognitive decision support in complex and high-risk industry with major accident potential

Mobydo is very pleased to announce a research collaboration with the University of Stavanger (UIS) and Prof. Chunming Rong, Head of DSComputing @ University of Stavanger, to investigate opportunities within use of cognitive decision support in our digital control of work system, Smart Permit.

UIS is recognized as a world leader in offshore safety and has core competence at the intersection of data science with cognitive capacity and risk management.

In this project, which is partly financed by VRI and FR (the Norwegian Research Council), we aim to gain more knowledge on how learning and experiences can be reused in an operating environment. The project is in line with point 1 of the Business and innovation strategy for Rogaland: Clean energy and maritime future, and points 26 and 28 of The OG21 Strategy – A New Chapter: Major accidents: Improved understanding of risks and uncertainty.

A big thanks to COSL Drilling Europe AS and their offshore crews for the production of data and for sharing data to the project. In their spirit of "always do better", digitization is an important and fundamental key in the process of identifying future improvements and optimizing operations
